As everyone knows, Chapecoense soccer team were on a crash yesterday, in Colombia. One of their survivors, were the goalkeeper Jackson Follmann had one of his legs amputated as a result of the accident, the defender Neto and the lateral Alan Ruschel are hospitalized. We send thoughts for all their families. It’s so important, in these situations, remember their good moments.
For those that doesn’t know, Associação Chapecoense de Futebol, commonly known as Chapecoense and whose acronym is ACF, is a Brazilian football club, based in the city of Chapecó the state of Santa Catarina. Besides football the club also has activities in futsal, in which it has been state champion twice. The club was founded in 1973 with the goal of restoring football in the city of Chapecó, and won their first state title in 1977.
1 – The Chapecoense team didn’t win one or two Campeonatos Catarinenses, but FIVE. They won in 1977, 1996, 2007, 2011, and 2016.
2 – They won the Taça Santa Catarina in 2009.
3 – In 1995, they won the Taça Plinio Arlindo de Nez.
4 – In 2002, they won the Campeonato Seletivo.
5 – In 2005, they won Copa da Paz.
6 – In 2016, Atletico Nacional officially requests delivery of the South American title to Chapecoense. So, in our hearts, Chapecoense is the champion.
