Actor Tom Hanks has said that he has been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, the most common form of the metabolic disease. Hanks, 57, told late night talk show host David Letterman on Monday that he had been battling high blood sugar for some time. “I went to the doctor, and he said, ‘You know those high blood-sugar numbers you’ve been dealing with since you were 36? Well, you’ve graduated! You’ve got type 2 diabetes, young man,'” Hanks said on CBS network’s “Late Show with David Letterman.
